What is PRP?
PRP is an abbreviation for ‘Platelet-Rich Plasma.’ PRP consists of filtered plasma from your own blood, hence the nickname ‘Vampire Facelift.’ PRP is extracted from your own blood and contains, among other components, platelets. The platelets contain more than 30 bioactive proteins, many of them active in blood clotting and wound healing. After injection into the skin, the platelets are activated, releasing stimulating signals to the cells in the skin. The use of PRP leads to improved blood circulation in the skin and stimulates the formation of collagen. The effect of growth factors is described as ‘an espresso shot for the skin.’ Platelets lack a cell nucleus and are therefore unable to multiply, making them safe to use.
Which treatments are possible with PRP?
PRP can be used in various ways to achieve skin improvement. It can be applied through individual injections or as a combination treatment with Endolifting or PlexR soft surgery for even better results and faster recovery after the treatment.
When can I do a PRP treatment?
Early signs of skin aging
Fine lines and wrinkles
Skin laxity
Sun-damaged skin
Improvement of scars
Stimulating hair growth
Single treatment or series of treatments?
A PRP treatment provides a ‘boost’ to the skin quality through a process of skin repair. After a single treatment, improvement in the skin is already observed through the formation of a foundation of new supporting tissue and improved blood circulation. The best results are typically seen after a series of 3-6 treatments, depending on the goal you want to achieve.
